Welcome to the 32nd IAPCT Conference and 2022 Annual Meeting

Information for subscribed participants

Dear participant,

We are happy that you registered to participate in our 32st IAPCT annual conference on October 6-8, 2022.  We look forward to sharing with you the many facets of Perceptual Control Theory, with a wide range of speakers from many different fields.

Conference program and abstracts:

Presentations and scheduled discussions will take place in the IAPCT zoom room:

Your contribution to the conference is very much appreciated. Also, please also share your video and feel free to ask questions after each talk or using the chat. Conversations can be continued during the conference in spatial chat (see below) or afterwards, on our forum http://discourse.iapct.org/

Take a break and meet people in Spatial chat:

Special this year is our spatial chat room where conference participants  can meet each other before and after talks. The spatial chat room will be open during the entire three days of the conference. Use this room to meet old friends and colleagues, and bump into new ones. The room is a video chat interface that is more like real life: we are all in a large room, and if you see some people talking together, you can approach them to join (and hear) the conversation. No account or login needed, just use your browser and allow access to your camera and microphone. We recommend using a second device (laptop, mobile phone) to switch between zoom and spatial chat. Space is limited to 50 participants at a time.  Feel free to test it before the conference. If it doesn’t work out of the box, check their help section.

Video and audio quality:

  • For good audio and video quality, please take care to check beforehand that your zoom app is updated to the latest version. To do this, sign in to your Zoom desktop client, click your profile picture and then click ‘Check for updates’. Also, it helps if your internet connection is strong and stable and when you use a headset/microphone for the best audio quality.
  • All talks and discussions will be recorded for our archives and shared with registered participants. We would also like to share selected talks on Youtube. If you do not want to be recorded during discussions, please do not share your video.
  • You won’t be able to use your webcam simultaneously in both zoom and spatial chat. We recommend using two devices (e.g. desktop and laptop or phone).
  • If you run into problems with logging in or experience other issues during the conference, please use the iapctboard <iapctboard@googlegroups.com> mail address to reach all of us.
